U.S. singer Madonna was taken to a British hospital Tuesday after falling off a horse while celebrating her 47th birthday.
Madonna's publicist, Liz Rosenberg, says the pop star broke her collar bone and a hand, and cracked three ribs.
The accident occurred at Ashcombe house, the entertainer's estate outside London. Madonna and an assistant were riding horses, when Madonna, on a new horse she was not accustomed to riding, took a tumble.
The spokeswoman said the singer had been celebrating her birthday along with husband Guy Ritchie, and their two children.
She was expected to be released from the hospital late Tuesday.
