King Widow to Remain Hospitalized Several More Days

The widow of slain U.S. civil rights leader Reverend Martin Luther King is expected to remain hospitalized for at least another week after suffering a stroke Tuesday.

Doctors say Coretta Scott King said a few words Friday at the hospital in Atlanta, Georgia, in the southeastern United States. Mrs. King's stroke affected her right side, as well as her ability to speak. Doctors say she will need intensive physical therapy.

Mrs. King was married to Reverend King for 15 years before he was assassinated in the southeastern U.S. city of Memphis, Tennessee in 1968.
