Agassi, Federer Advance to Final of US Open Tennis Tourney

Two-time champion Andre Agassi of the United States and defending champ Roger Federer of Switzerland have advanced to the men's final at the U.S. Open tennis tournament in New York.

Agassi, at 35-years-old the oldest man left in the singles draw, scored a five-set win over countryman Robby Ginepri in a match that lasted two hours, 47 minutes, 6-4, 5-7, 6-3, 4-6, 6-3.

Federer, the world number one, took nearly three hours to beat 2001 champion Lleyton Hewitt of Australia in four sets, 6-3, 7-6, 4-6, 6-3.

Agassi and Federer have met 10 times in the past with Federer winning the last seven meetings, including two times earlier this year. The women's final features Kim Clijsters of Belgium facing Mary Pierce of France.
