Blast in Belarus Wounds at Least 46

Authorities in Belarus say an explosion outside a cafe in the northeastern city of Vitebsk has wounded at least 46 people, four of them seriously.

Police say at least 25 of those injured in the Thursday evening blast have been sent to the hospital. Authorities say the explosive was stuffed with bits of metal and was planted in a flower bed outside the cafe.

Reports from Vitebsk say the blast was similar to an explosion nine days ago, September 14, when a metal can filled with nails and bolts blew up at a bus stop.

Few details about the latest explosion have been released, but police say a special security team is investigating the case.
