The United States has ordered a freeze on bank accounts and assets belonging to seven Egyptians accused of aiding terrorist groups.
In a statement Monday, the Treasury Department said the individuals are members of the Egyptian Islamic Jihad and are wanted by Egyptian authorities.
It said they are accused of training and providing material support to al Qaida, and of conspiring to carry out terrorist acts. It said one was an explosives and chemicals expert for al Qaida.
