Wie Misses Cut by One Stroke in Japanese Men's Tourney

American teen golf sensation Michelle Wie failed in her bid to make the cut in a men's national-tour golf event after a disastrous finish Friday, at the Casio World Open in Kochi, Japan.

The 16-year-old Hawaiian bogeyed her last two holes in a second-round 75 to finish at 4-over par, 148, missing the cut by one shot in her sixth start against the men.

Wie flirted with history after making a birdie on the par-five 10th hole to go two under, but bogeys on the 17th and 18th holes ended her chances.

Wie's quest to go the distance with the men is a hard task, with no woman going past two rounds in a US Professional Golf Association tour event since Mildred "Babe" Didrikson Zaharias in 1945.
