People in the eastern Democratic Republic of Congo have felt three aftershocks from the strong regional earthquake that killed at least one person on Monday.
The U.S. Geological Survey measured the strongest aftershock Tuesday at a magnitude of 5.4, a moderate earthquake on its own.
A United Nations spokesman in Kinshasa has confirmed that Monday's quake caused buildings to collapse in the Congolese town of Kalemie, killing a small child and injuring at least three other people.
He expressed concern that the aftershocks could cause more damage, though none has been reported.
The Kalemie region appears to have been the worst-hit area in the six countries where Monday's 6.0 magnitude earthquake was felt.
