At Least 7 Iraqis Killed in Insurgent Bomb Attacks

At least seven people have been killed in separate insurgent bomb attacks across Iraq, Saturday.

Iraqi authorities say five people were killed when a roadside bomb exploded near the headquarters of one of Iraq's main Sunni Arab political parties in al-Khalis, 60 kilometers north of Baghdad.

At least two policemen were killed in a bomb attack in Baghdad.

The latest violence comes as Sudan announced plans to close its Baghdad embassy in an effort to win the release of five Sudanese hostages, including one of its top diplomats in Iraq.

Al-Qaida in Iraq said the Sudanese, who were kidnapped in Baghdad last week, will be killed Saturday unless Khartoum closes the diplomatic mission.

Some information for this report was provided by AFP, AP, and Reuters.
