One Killed, 50 Injured in Bangladesh Clashes

Authorities in Bangladesh say at least one person was killed and 50 injured in clashes Sunday between activists from rival political parties and police in the capital, Dhaka.

The authorities say most of the injuries occurred when supporters of opposition Jatiya Party stormed a rally of the Bangladesh Communist party.

Witnesses say Jatiya supporters also attacked police, damaged a number of vehicles and burned books and furniture. It is not clear if the victim died during the violence or was hit by a speeding vehicle.
