In National Hockey League action Wednesday, Colorado goalie David Aebischer stopped 25 shots and the Avalanche scored twice in the third period to come from behind and defeat the Montreal Canadiens 2-1 in Denver. Colorado was shut out in the first two periods before Marek Svatos and Ian Laperriere scored a goal each in the third. Aebischer made his final save with 23 seconds remaining in the game to preserve the win.
