Kobe Bryant scored 29 points for the Lakers, who held San Antonio's Tim Duncan to just 12 points. The loss was the Spurs second in three games after a seven-game winning streak.
Jason Richardson scored a career-high 44 points to lead the Golden State Warriors to a 111-106 upset win over the Miami Heat. Miami's 10-game winning streak came to an end, despite a season-high 42 points from Dwayne Wade.
The Los Angeles Clippers downed the Chicago Bulls 107-96, thanks to a 32-point performance by Sam Cassell.
In other NBA games, Ron Artest scored a season-high 30 points, including 19 in the fourth period, to lead the resurgent Sacramento Kings to a 105-93 win over the Memphis Grizzlies. The Orlando Magic overpowered the Cleveland Cavaliers in their 102-73 win. Four bench players scored in double figures for Orlando.
The Denver Nuggets beat the Toronto Raptors 108-97, despite losing superstar Carmelo Anthony in the third period with a leg injury. Michael Redd scored 26 points to lead the Milwaukee Bucks to a 92-86 win over the Boston Celtics and end their three-game losing streak. And the Indiana Pacers defeated the New Orleans Hornets 92-90, thanks to 26 points from Peja Stojakovic, including the game-winning shot late in the fourth period.
