China has pledged $600 million in loans and grants to Cambodia for development projects.

The announcement was made Saturday in Phnom Penh following talks between Cambodian Prime Minister Hun Sen and visiting Chinese Premier Wen Jiabao.

Around $200 million of the fund will be used to pay for two major bridges in Cambodia.

The two countries also signed eleven agreements in areas including health, fighting transnational crime, technical cooperation and the protection of historical relics.

Mr. Wen's visit to Cambodia is the end of a tour that also took him to Australia, Fiji and New Zealand.
