Bush, Koizumi to Make Pilgrimage to Graceland

The White House says President and Mrs. Bush will accompany Japanese Prime Minister Junichiro Koizumi to the home of late rock-and-roll legend Elvis Presley later this month.

Mr. and Mrs. Bush will travel to Memphis, Tennessee with Mr. Koizumi on June 30 to visit Graceland, Presley's estate. The trip will occur a day after the two leaders hold talks at the White House.

The Japanese leader is a fan of Presley, and shares a January 8 birthday with the man dubbed "the King of Rock and Roll." Mr. Koizumi officially leaves office in September.

Presley's home has drawn millions of visitors from around the world since his death in 1977 at the age of 42.
