Diaspora News: "The African Nation"

update

African immigrants in the United States have been able to come up with a good number of news publications to provide information about the African continent and Africans living in the diaspora, apart from the various internet web sites and news letters which carry African news.

One such news outlet is The African Nation newspaper, a monthly publication in the Washington metropolitan area. The paper, besides covering African news, also provides valuable tips that help assist new immigrants succeed in the United States. Prince Ojong is an entrepreneur and publisher of the African Nation newspaper based in the Silver Spring, Maryland. He spoke to VOA English to Africa reporter Francis Niba about the main idea behind the creation of this publication.

“In Rome, do what the Romans do,” says the publisher. “African immigrants should acquire the necessary skills to make them more competitive by going to school and being more creative.”
