President Bush Addresses School Shootings in Saturday Speech

President Bush says children and teachers should never fear for their safety when they enter a classroom.

Mr. Bush used his weekly Saturday radio address to highlight a recent series of school shootings. The president is to meet with a group of teachers, students, school administrators and law enforcement agents on Tuesday to discuss safety in schools.

In the worst of the attacks, five girls were killed in a one-room schoolhouse Monday in the eastern U.S. state of Pennsylvania.

The president also called on Congress to re-authorize his education policy known as No Child Left Behind, which mandates standardized tests for primary and secondary schools.
