Zimbabwe's Women Cricket Squad Upbeat On First Foreign Outing

update

Zimbabwe women's cricket team left Thursday for the International Cricket Council's African Region World Cup Qualifiers in Nairobi, Kenya. Though this is the squad's first such outing, players and coaches are hoping to pull off upsets in Kenya.

The 13-player women's contingent (including two reserves) will be competing in a field that includes South Africa, Uganda, Kenya and Namibia, among others. The World Cup finals will be held in Australia in 2008.

Reporter Marvellous Mhlanga-Nyahuye of VOA's Studio 7 for Zimbabwe sought comment from Zimbabwe Cricket Association spokesman Enock Muchinjo on his team’s level of preparedness for the round of World Cup qualifiers.
