A massive winter storm has dumped up to 60 centimeters of snow on the U.S. Midwest and East Coast and caused massive transit delays Sunday.
Officials in the upper midwest state of Wisconsin say eight people were killed in traffic accidents during the heavy snow storm. Blizzard-like conditions in some areas forced authorities to close roads and officials are warning motorists of icy conditions as temperatures drop overnight.
Hundreds of flights were canceled or delayed at several airports across the midwest and mid-Atlantic region. Thousands of houses also lost power. And a snow emergency was declared in Washington, where several inches of wet snow accumulated during the day.
