Rescuers Recover Bodies of 3 Killed in Chilean Quake

Rescue workers in Chile have recovered the bodies of three people killed during a strong earthquake Saturday in the south of the country.

Seven more people remain missing after the 6.2 magnitude earthquake. The victims were reported swept away from a beach in the Aysen region of Chile by large waves.

Chilean President Michelle Bachelet traveled to the region Sunday to survey the damage.

The U.S. Geological Survey says two additional earthquakes struck Chile Sunday - a 5.3 magnitude quake 80 kilometers northeast of the city of Valparaiso and a 4.9 temblor 170 kilometers north of Valparaiso.

Saturday's quake was one of more than 100 earthquakes that have been felt in the area since the beginning of this year.

Some information for this report was provided by AFP and AP.
