Actress Sandra Bullock Fan Charged with Stalking

A fan of Sandra Bullock has been charged with stalking the movie actress and attempting to run down her husband, TV motorcycle maker Jesse James, outside their Southern California home.

Marcia Diane Valentine, 46, of Huntington Beach, was charged May 17 with one felony count each of aggravated assault and stalking. In a statement, the Orange County district attorney's office said she faces up to four years and eight months in prison if convicted.

It was unknown whether Valentine had an attorney, and she has not commented on the case. She remains free on $25,000 bail pending a May 22 arraignment.

Last week, Bullock testified that Valentine had on five occasions left palm fronds in her yard adorned with "weird signs" and "pieces of animal fur."

On April 22, Valentine allegedly attempted to hit Jesse James with her car after he wrote down her license plate number.

Prosecutors say she narrowly missed James, reversed and attempted to strike him a second time, then fled.

James, host of the Discovery Channel's "Monster Garage," was unhurt. Sheriff's deputies arrested Valentine the following day.
