Kristy Swanson's representative said the actress pressed assault charges on June 17 against the ex-wife of her companion and former skating partner, Lloyd Eisler.
Police took pictures of bruises on her back and other parts of her body which Swanson says she received after a June 15 scuffle with Eisler's ex-wife, Marcia O'Brien.
The court action follows O'Brien's earlier assault complaint against Swanson; the 37-year-old actress says she was arrested and released after posting bail June 16 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada.
Swanson's spokesman Michael Sands said the actress and Eisler were in Kingston to visit Eisler's children and discuss custody with O'Brien.
Eisler, 44, a former world champion pairs skater, met Kristy Swanson in 2006 while filming the U-S TV reality series Skating With Celebrities.
He left his wife for Swanson, whose screen credits include Buffy The Vampire Slayer and Ferris Beuller's Day Off.
