Argentina's first lady and presidential candidate has introduced her running mate for the 2008 election.
Christina Fernandez de Kirchner announced during a campaign rally Tuesday night that she has chosen Julio Cobos, the governor of Mendoza state.
Cobos broke affiliations with the opposition Radical Civic Union party to run with Fernandez. He said they are people from different political groups who both want a "different Argentina."
Fernandez is the wife of current president Nestor Kirchner and would be Argentina's first elected female president. President Kirchner is credited with helping Argentina bounce back from an economic collapse. He took office in 2003.
