Mexican authorities say they have seized more than 11 tons of cocaine in one the nation's largest ever drug busts.
The drugs were discovered Tuesday on board a cargo ship docked in the western port city of Manzanillo. The ship, which was flying under a Hong Kong flag, had arrived in Mexico from Colombia.
The seizure was the second in Mexico in October. At least 10 tons were recovered earlier on Mexico's Atlantic coast.
President Felipe Calderon has deployed thousands of troops across Mexico in an effort to fight violent illicit drug trafficking cartels.
