Basketball: James Leads Cavaliers to Win Over Knicks

LeBron James had 50 points, 10 assists and eight rebounds to lead the Cleveland Cavaliers to a 119-105 win over the New York Knicks in National Basketball Association action Wednesday.

James made 16 of 30 shots, including seven from three-point range, in his second 50 point outburst this season.

In Houston, the Rockets cruised to their 16th straight win with a 117-99 victory over the Indiana Pacers. Tracy McGrady scored 25 points for the Rockets, who are 4-0 since losing star center Yao Ming for the season with a foot injury.

The Boston Celtics became the first team to clinch a playoff berth, after a 90-78 win over the Detroit Pistons. Kevin Garnett scored a season high 31 points in the win.

Other winners in the NBA were the Nuggets, Hornets, Jazz, Raptors, Grizzlies, Bucks, Bobcats, Magic and Clippers.

The Denver Nuggets beat the Phoenix Suns 126-113, the New Orleans Hornets defeated the Atlanta Hawks 116-101, the Utah Jazz routed the Minnesota Timberwolves 105-76, the Toronto Raptors beat the Miami Heat 108-83, the Memphis Grizzlies got by the New Jersey Nets 100-93, the Milwaukee Bucks beat the Seattle Supersonics 118-106, the Charlotte Bobcats beat the Golden State Warriors 118-109, the Orlando Magic beat the Washington Wizards 122-92 and the Los Angeles Clippers beat the Sacramento Kings 116-109.
