President Bush is to host British Prime Minister Gordon Brown at the White House April 17 for talks expected to include Iraq, Afghanistan and Iran.
The White House says Mr. Bush looks forward to continuing consultations with the prime minister on advancing freedom and strengthening security and democracy in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere.
It says the president also looks forward to continuing talks on efforts to increase international pressure on Iran to prevent it from obtaining the means to build nuclear weapons.
Other topics are expected to include fighting terrorism, poverty, disease and climate change, as well as promoting free trade around the world.
White House spokeswoman Dana Perino said the United States and Britain share a special partnership that enables them to more effectively confront key strategic challenges.
