Fans of U.S. movie stars Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt were thrilled at the news Sunday that the couple are now the parents of twins.
Son Knox Leon and daughter Vivienne Marcheline were delivered by caesarean section Saturday at a hospital in Nice, France.
The mayor of Nice and hospital officials say mother and babies are doing well and are expected to stay in the hospital for several more days.
A Nice newspaper says Pitt and Jolie have sold the rights to the first pictures of the twins to a U.S. newspaper for $11 million, with the money going to charity.
Fans of Pitt and Jolie call them the world's most famous celebrity couple. They already have three children adopted from Cambodia, Vietnam, and Ethiopia, as well as one other biological child.
Along with acting, the Oscar-winning Jolie is also a goodwill ambassador with the United Nations refugee agency.
