Storm Forces Closing of Paris Airports

French authorities have ordered a halt in service to the airports serving Paris because of a strong storm approaching the area.

The French weather service says gales of more than 100 kilometers per hour will batter northeastern France overnight. It says such winds could pose a serious threat to aviation.

Officials say the airport closure should last for about 14 hours.

Significant storms have battered Britain and France over the past month.

Some information for this report was provided by AFP, AP and Reuters.
