Authorities in northwest Pakistan say at least 10 people have been killed in separate bombings outside of the main city of Peshawar.
Police say one car bombing in Badaber killed eight people Saturday, including police officers, soldiers and a passerby.
Authorities say it appears a body was placed inside the car to lure security personnel who were at a nearby checkpoint. The car exploded as troops and police came to investigate.
In a separate incident in Darra Adam Khel, at least two civilians were killed in a roadside bomb attack targeting security forces.
Meantime, Pakistani security officials are investigating reports that a suspected U.S. drone (pilotless aircraft) crashed in South Waziristan. The area, near the Afghan border, is considered a safe haven for Taliban and al-Qaida militants. It is frequently targeted in suspected drone missile strikes.
There have been more than 30 such missile strikes on Pakistani territory since the middle of last year, despite public objections from the Pakistani government.
