French President Nicolas Sarkozy was hospitalized Sunday, after falling ill while jogging at his weekend retreat near Paris.
Mr. Sarkozy's office said the 54-year-old president was taken to a military hospital in Paris and officials said the illness was considered minor.
A statement late Sunday from the office of the presidency said military doctors performed a clinical exam and neurological testing and that results were normal. It said the president will remain in the hospital overnight.
Mr. Sarkozy, who took office in 2007, was briefly hospitalized that year for treatment of angina. He is known to be an avid cyclist and jogger.
