Demonstrators around the world are mobilizing Friday to protest Venezuelan President Hugo Chavez.
The Colombian-organized "No More Chavez" event is expected to draw participants in about 30 countries, including Colombia, Venezuela and the United States.
The protesters are scheduled to gather in about 100 major cities to call for an end to what organizers call his "lies," "hypocrisy" and "insults" and attempts to garner support for what they say is a "delusional" revolution.
Mr. Chavez has criticized the protest as "stupid." The president's supporters are to hold pro-Chavez rallies in Venezuela.
Organizers used Internet sites Facebook, Twitter and YouTube to publicize the anti-Chavez event.
President Chavez frequently criticizes U.S. intervention in other countries, but protest organizers say he is the most interventionist president ever.
Other locations for the march include Ecuador, Mexico, Peru, as well as Britain, France, Italy, Spain, and South Africa.
