UN Security Council Approves Terrorism Resolution - 2001-09-29

The Security Council has approved a U.S. sponsored resolution aimed at stopping the financing of terrorist groups.

The resolution targets financial and other forms of support for terrorism. It also contains language on the extradition of accused terrorists and exchanging intelligence information. The resolution would deny safe haven to terrorists and groups that plan, support or commit terrorist acts.

The United States introduced the draft Thursday.
