Olympic champion and former National Football League star Bob Hayes is reported to be in critical condition with flu-like symptoms at a hospital in Jacksonville, Florida.
The only man to win both an Olympic gold medal and be a member of a Super Bowl winning team (Dallas Cowboys), Hayes was treated earlier this year for heart, liver and kidney ailments, as well as prostate cancer. He underwent surgery to remove his prostate in February.
Family members say the hospitalization is not related to Hayes' most recent operations. Hayes was admitted to the hospital Tuesday after visiting the doctor, complaining of fever and nausea.
