Australian golfer John Senden eagled the final hole Thursday to take a one-shot lead after two rounds of the five-round Bob Hope Classic in La Quinta, California. He blasted his ball out of a bunker and into the cup for an exciting close to his round.
The 30-year-old Senden, who has played on the European tour for the past four years, shot a seven-under-par 65 on one of the four courses used for the event, building a 15-under-par total of 129.
Alone in second place is American Brandel Chamblee, followed by fellow Americans Jay Haas and Phil Mickelson.
