Liberia’s Minister of Information, Reginald Goodridge, denies Amnesty International charges that it’s government is committing human rights abuses.
He says Amnesty’s accusations that Liberia’s security forces are committing rape and torture are fabricated.
Mr. Goodridge says his country’s imposition of state of emergency in February has done some good because it has brought a degree of peace and stability following the recent incursions by the rebel LURD forces.
The Information Minister spoke to English to Africa reporter Richard Kotey from Monrovia.
