Lennox Lewis has successfully defended his heavyweight boxing title against challenger Mike Tyson, in a fight held in Memphis, Tennessee.
Lennox Lewis ended the scheduled 12-round fight with a knockout in the eighth round. It was the 31st knockout for the British-born fighter. In his professional career Lewis now has 40 wins, two losses and one draw.
The fight took place at the Pyramid arena in downtown Memphis.
Before the knockout, Lewis was credited with a knockdown in the eighth round. Then Lewis finished Tyson with a solid right hand. The fight ended with 35 seconds left in the eighth.
After the fight, Tyson complimented Lewis as a great fighter and expressed a desire for a rematch sometime in the future.
