European Ryder Cup golfer Padraig Harrington of Ireland will have a scan next week on an ankle injury that has been bothering him for a month. Harrington told reporters Saturday at the BMW International tournament in Munich that he would go to a hospital in Dublin for an examination after twisting his left ankle at the Dutch Open last month.
The news is bound to concern European Ryder Cup captain Sam Torrance, who already has Scotsman Colin Montgomerie struggling with a back injury.
Harrington, who was 8-under-par after a third round 68 on Saturday, is adamant that he will be ready for the match against the United States from September 27 - 29.
