Over the next couple of weeks, our reporters will take a close look at the political climate ahead of local and general elections in Nigeria. They’ll be looking at some of the campaign issues, including the economy and voting security. They'll also be sampling the thoughts of voters and politicians on those issues. We begin tonight with the first of several such stories. English to Africa reporter Paul Okolo is in the Ogun state capital, Abeokuta. English to Africa reporter Josephine Kamara asked Paul about the political atmosphere in the state. He says the political situation is very much on people’s minds and that the just-concluded voter registration procedure has dominated various debates.
