Producer-director Bruce Paltrow, the father of actress Gwyneth Paltrow, has died in Rome, at the age of 58. His daughter's publicist said Mr. Paltrow died from complications of pneumonia.
Mr. Paltrow had been battling throat cancer, but had traveled from his Los Angeles home to Italy to celebrate his daughter's 30th birthday last week.
Bruce Paltrow directed and produced the 2000 film Duets in which his daughter co-starred. He also wrote and directed episodes of the U.S. television series Saint Elsewhere and directed the films 87th Precinct and A Little Sex.
