Dateline: The US Congressional Debate Over The War Resolution On Iraq - 2002-10-07


The U.S. Congress will vote next week on resolutions that support the Bush administration's threat of military force to ensure Iraqi leader Saddam Hussein's compliance with international weapons inspections. Both the 435-member House of Representatives and the 100-member Senate will take up and discuss different resolutions, but the two chambers are expected to give the administration much of what it wants. But the debates will raise criticisms of the policy as we hear in this Dateline report.
