American country singer Johnny Paycheck, best known for the 1977 working man's anthem Take This Job and Shove It, has died at the age of 64.
Paycheck passed away this week Tuesday, in a nursing home in Nashville, Tennessee, after a long battle with emphysema.
Born Donald Eugene Lytle in May, 1938, he took the name Johnny PayCheck in the mid-1960's as he tried to build a career in country music.
He went on to record 70 albums and had more than two dozen hit singles. He biggest hit however was Take This Job and Shove It, which inspired a movie with the same name and a title album that sold some two million copies.
