Nigeria’s leading political parties are gearing up for next Saturday’s State legislative elections. The preparations are proceeding despite threats of a boycott by some opposition parties. The All Nigeria’s Peoples’ Party, ANPP, accused the ruling Peoples’ Democratic Party of massive rigging in the recent presidential and parliamentary elections. The ANPP threatened a mass protest and a boycott of the upcoming State polls if the disputed elections were not canceled.
