An attack in Baghdad has killed an Iraqi civilian and wounded two American soldiers.
U.S. military spokesmen say someone attacked a U-S convoy with an explosive device on a highway just outside Baghdad.
The military says an Iraqi civilian died, but it is not clear whether the person was traveling with the U.S. troops, was a participant in the attack or just an innocent bystander.
Two wounded American soldiers were evacuated for medical treatment.
The incident is the latest in a string of daily attacks on U.S. forces in Iraq during the past few weeks.
The military blames remnants of Saddam Hussein's regime, but there is also rising resentment against Americans among the general Iraqi population. Many people express frustration with the lack of security, and with delays in restoring basic services such as electricity and water.
