Two people died in Kenya after a suspected terrorist blew himself up while being taken into custody. Two people were reportedly severely injured in the explosion.
A statement from Kenyan National Security Minister Chris Murungaru says two suspected terrorists were arrested Friday afternoon at a cyber café in the Kenyan coastal city of Mombasa.
As the two were being placed in a police car, one of the suspects detonated a grenade, killing himself and a police officer, according to Mr. Murungaru. The second suspect escaped.
Mombasa was the scene of a terrorist attack last November, when three suicide bombers drove into an Israeli-owned hotel along the coast. The blast killed more than a dozen people.
