Brad Paisley Releases Mud On The Tires CD - 2003-09-23

West Virginia native Brad Paisley, 30, arrived on the Country music scene in 1999, with his debut album Who Needs Pictures. The CD produced several hits, and made him an immediate Country star. He achieved equal success with his 2001 follow-up album, Part II. Brad Paisley's popularity continues to grow with the release of his third album, Mud On The Tires.

Billboard magazine calls Brad Paisley "a monster talent," and many in the music industry predict his latest album, Mud On The Tires, will propel him to superstar status. Mud On The Tires entered Billboard's Country chart at Number One, marking Brad's first debut in the top spot. The traditional Country sound of his previous two albums, both million-sellers, earned Brad the respect of his peers.

Brad wrote or co-wrote nine of the 16 tracks on his new collection. The diverse set also contains a gospel tune, an instrumental track that turns into a radio drama, and Brad's version of Vern Gosdin's 1990 Top 10 single, Is It Raining At Your House. Featured guests include Alison Krauss, Vince Gill, George Jones, and Grand Ole Opry stars "Little" Jimmy Dickens and Bill Anderson.

Earlier this year, Brad married actress Kim Williams, who stars in Jim Belushi's television comedy series According To Jim. Belushi is among the Hollywood stars who appear in the video to Brad's recent hit Celebrity. The video also features actors Jason Alexander and William Shatner. Celebrity is a social satire that pokes fun at reality shows and the extravagant lifestyles of America's rich and famous.

Celebrity earned Brad this year's Country Music Association Award nominations in the categories of Single, Song, and Music Video of the Year. He's also a contender for Male Vocalist of the Year. The 2003 CMAs will be presented on November 5.

Brad promoted his new album on Brooks & Dunn's U.S. summer tour. The annual event has become one of the most popular concert draws in Country music. Paisley's currently headlining shows throughout the United States. Dates are scheduled to continue into 2004.

Although Brad has become known for recording humorous hits like Celebrity and I'm Gonna Miss Her (The Fishing Song), his new single is a love song that shows his sentimental side. Its lyrics are based on experiences he's shared with his wife.
