Week six of the National Football Season comes to a close as the Saint Louis Rams host the Atlanta Falcons in the weekly Monday night game.

Electrifying Atlanta quarterback Michael Vick had been expected to make his Monday Night Football debut. But the Falcons number-one play caller will be on the sidelines for tonight's game. Vick suffered a fractured right fibula during the preseason and is still unable to play.

Without Vick, the Falcons have struggled under quarterback Doug Johnson, who has thrown for six touchdowns but nine interceptions. After a season-opening win at Dallas, Atlanta has dropped four straight games. The Falcons are hoping to get Vick back in a few weeks.

The 27th-ranked Falcons' defense could be a welcome sight for the Rams, who are coming off their bye week. St. Louis ranks seventh on offense in the NFL with 25 points per game. Two weeks ago, Lamar Gordon rushed for 81 yards and a touchdown in a 37-13 rout of Arizona. Gordon is starting in place of Marshall Faulk, who is expected to miss at least a month with a broken hand.

Rams' quarterback Marc Bulger also had a strong game against the Cardinals, completing 28 of 42 passes for 272 yards and two touchdowns. He improved to 8-2 as a starter in his career. St. Louis leads the series, 45-23-2.
