Gonzalez Rallies to Win Madrid Golf Open - 2003-10-26

Argentine golfer Ricardo Gonzalez fired a six-under-par 65 Sunday to rally from six strokes back and win the Madrid Open in Spain.

The 34-year-old Gonzalez carded a 14-under par total of 270 to edge three-round leader Paul Casey of Britain by one stroke and pick up his second win on the European circuit. Casey tied for second place with Marten Olander of Sweden, Nick O'Hern of Australia and Irishman Padraig Harrington.

Casey had gone into play Sunday with a four stroke lead, but shot a one-over 72 in the final round. Spanish golfer Sergio Garcia needed one birdie on his last two holes to tie, but he bogeyed both of them.
