Women's Golf: Mallon, Davies Tied for Lead at ADT Championship - 2003-11-22

American golfer Meg Mallon and Britain's Laura Davies are tied for the lead heading into Saturday's third round of the ADT Championship in West Palm Beach, Florida.

Davies gained a share of the lead Friday with a 3-under-par 69, while Mallon shot a 71, placing the 40-year-old veterans at the top of the leaderboard midway through the event.

Davies is a former LPGA Player of the Year, in her 20th season on the tour, but without a victory in two years.

The leaders' two round total of 2-under-par (142) is one shot better than the threesome of Americans Rosie Jones and Cristie Kerr, and South Korean Se Ri Pak.

Jones had the best round of the day with a 67.

Eight players are bunched high on the leaderboard. Swedish star Annika Sorenstam, Canadian Lorie Kane and American Michele Redman are just two shots off the lead.
