Pop star Justin Timberlake will make his big screen debut in David Burke's upcoming film Edison. Timberlake is cast to play a young journalist who uncovers a corrupt police unit. Also starring in the motion picture are Kevin Spacey, Morgan Freeman and rapper/actor LL Cool J. Filming will begin on March 8 in Vancouver, British Columbia and it will hit theaters in 2005.
59-year-old Motown legend Diana Ross has been sentenced to two days in jail and one year of unsupervised probation for her 2002 DUI charge. The singer was arrested in Tucson, Arizona on December 30, 2002 after police were notified that a car was being driven the wrong way down a street. Reports say that many residents of Tucson are angered by the judge's decision, calling it a "lenient sentence." Ross pleaded no contest to the charge. On Friday 13, press reports noted that the sentence had been served in Greenwich, Connecticut.
More baby chicks are on the way. The Dixie Chicks' Martie Maguire and her husband Gareth are expecting twin daughters. One will be named Kathleen after Gareth's younger sister, who was killed in an automobile accident seven years ago. And, Dixie Chicks lead singer Natalie Maines has announced she's pregnant with her second child. She and her husband, actor Adrian Pasdar, have a three-year-old son named Jackson Slade. The third member of the Dixie Chicks, Emily Robison, gave birth to her first child last year.
February 20, Garth Brooks will report to the Kansas City Royals' spring training camp in Surprise, Arizona. This is the fourth time since 1998 that Garth has attended a professional baseball training camp to raise money for his Teammates for Kids charity. The organization funds children's charities around the world.

The 2004 Brit Awards will be handed out on February 17 at London's Earl Court. The Darkness leads this year's contenders with four nominations, including Best British Group and Best Album for Permission To Land. Following close behind with three nominations are Dido, Dizzee Rascal, Daniel Bedingfield, Busted, Justin Timberlake and Christina Aguilera. During the ceremony, the recently reunited Duran Duran will receive a career achievement award in recognition of the group's outstanding contributions to music during the past 25 years.
Beyonce led the winners at the 46th annual Grammy Awards, presented in Los Angeles on February 8. Her wins included Best Contemporary R&B Album for Dangerously In Love and Best Female R&B Performance for Dangerously In Love 2. She shared two awards with her boyfriend Jay-Z for their duet Crazy In Love. Rap newcomer 50 Cent went into the race with six nominations, but was shut out. Evanescence won over him in the category of Best New Artist. Other major winners included rock band Coldplay, which received the Record of the Year award for Clocks; Richard Marx and Luther Vandross, who shared the Song of the Year Grammy for composing Dance With My Father; and hip-hop duo OutKast, which took home three awards, including Album of the Year and Rap Album of the Year for Speakerboxx/The Love Below." Rock singer Melissa Etheridge will begin a club tour on February 17 in West Hollywood, California. She'll be promoting her new CD Lucky, which includes her current hit Breathe. Etheridge will play multiple shows in 10 U.S. cities before wrapping up dates with a three-night engagement in Atlanta, Georgia May 6-8.
February 19, Pink will kick off her first major headlining tour in Dublin, Ireland. She'll support her latest album Try This with 29 more shows in the U.K., Belgium, Switzerland, Norway, France, the Netherlands, Austria, Hungary and Germany through April 10. U.S. concerts will begin in late spring or early summer.
