Wednesday offers 20 chances for athletes to win gold at the Olympics in Greece.

Medal events are scheduled in athletics, canoe and kayak slalom, cycling, equestrian, fencing, artistic gymnastics, judo, shooting, archery, swimming and weightlifting.

The first finals in athletics come in the men's and women's shot put. Another two golds will be awarded on the water in the C-1 and K-1 finals of canoe and kayak events. The men and women have the chance to top the podium in road cycling individual time trials.

In the saddle, horses and their riders compete in the show jump finals of the three-day team and individual events. Fencing gets to the point in the women's final foil competition. Men go for gold in the artistic gymnastic individual apparatus final.

For the fifth straight day, four swimming gold medals await the fastest swimmers. Men compete in the 200-meter breaststroke and 100-meter freestyle races. Women hit the water in the 200-meter butterfly and four-by-200 meter freestyle relay.

Weightlifters grapple with mass in the women's under 63-kilogram and men's under 69-kilogram finals. Two finals in judo include the women's under 70-kilogram and men's under 90-kilogram divisions.

Shooters aim for Olympic glory in the women's double trap and 25-meter pistol.
