U.S. forces are reported to have launched a second round of targeted bombing Saturday against Abu Musab al-Zarqawi's terror network in the Iraqi city of Fallujah.
Residents reported loud explosions after nightfall. The U.S. military did not immediately comment on the blasts.
But earlier in the day, medics said at least seven people were killed and several others wounded in U.S. air strikes on the insurgent stronghold.
Friday, four U.S. Marines were killed in three separate incidents in al-Anbar province, which includes Fallujah.
In other violence Saturday, the U.S. military says seven Iraqi national guard recruits were killed in a grenade attack in Baghdad. An American soldier was also killed when a roadside bomb exploded.
