An Iraqi court has issued an arrest warrant against a politician for a recent visit to Israel.
Mithal al-Alusi attended a counter-terrorism conference in Tel Aviv last month, as a senior member of the Iraqi National Congress party. He was later expelled from the party.
Iraq was one of Israel's enemies under Saddam Hussein, and Iraqis were forbidden to visit the country.
Travel ban laws have not been revised in post-war Iraq, and it is unclear whether the case against Mr. al-Alusi can or will go forward.
